Ben Sirach was a Jewish Scribe considered to be a Seer in his time which was about 200 BCE. He was a well respected and known scholar with whom I associate myself (because I have also been a scholar since 1969). Thanks to Espiritu Santo Parochial School wherein I first learned about God and Jesus Christ through the Cathechism, and to Ateneo de Manila University Scholarship Foundation for the 8 years of scholarship in a Jesuit educational community.

It was in my later years, sometime 1986-89 when I reflected about Ben Sirach's insights about the value of health. You might also want to adopt his view. He said:

Sirach 30: 14-20
HEALTH AND CHEERFULNESS
"14 Better the poor in vigorous health than the rich with bodily ills.15 I would rather have bodily health than any gold, and contentment of spirit than pearls.16 No riches are greater than a healthy body; and no happiness than a joyful heart.17 Better is death than a wretched life, everlasting sleep than constant illness.18 Good things set before one who cannot eat are like food offerings placed before a tomb. 19 What good is an offering to an idol that can neither eat nor smell? So it is with the one being punished by the Lord, 20 who groans at what his eyes behold."

The pictures below were taken in the last week of October 2015 at my 61 years of age. I jog, bike, and workout in gyms as needed to maintain good health. My blood pressure is almost always normal for my age. My weight is exactly what Steve Reeves considers perfect. To understand what those figures mean, let me add the pictures and specifications of Steve Reeves and DailyHealth.com.

Steve Reeves got into shoulder accidents in his movie filming as Lead Actor, but lived up to 74 years old.
